I’m a passionate 3D Artist, Aspiring Filmmaker, Texture Artist, Digital Matte Painter, and multi-disciplinary thinker with extensive experience in 3D Printing & 3D Modeling for a wide array of top-tier clients and brands, including: Disney, LucasFilm, Jurassic World, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixomondo, Dropbox, Sight & Sound Theaters, PDP, and many others. Coming from a formal background in Biology and Clinical Emergency Medicine, I’m currently working in Film VFX with Pixomondo LA, though have also worked in Video Games (VR & AR as well), Prop/Set Design & Fabrication, still freelancing during my off-time, and am often found carrying the flag as a committed Cetacean (Marine Mammals; Dolphins, Whales, etc.) / Animal Advocate, proud Corgi parent, and am
always seeking to intertwine my interests in Science, Conservancy & Compassion for Wildlife, Storytelling, affecting Artwork, and Breathtaking Spectacle with my range of creative abilities & disciplines through a core belief the Arts are where culture is formed and influenced.
I come from a formal background in Biology: Clinical Medicine (Emergency Department/Trauma Assistance) as well as classical education in Fine Art – focus in Digital Art & Visual Communication; I worked in the E.R. of one of our nation’s top 50 hospitals for several years, but eventually followed my first love for meaningful visual storytelling. I’m very personable; love people and inspiring them to excel in their passions, and am very intentional in encouraging them to positively affect the world around us through their given abilities and positions. I have excellent communication/PR skills, a strong vocabulary, and an eye for detail. My versatility and imagination find their equilibrium in Art, Design, Complex Storytelling/Creative Writing, and Production Assistance. Of Spanish lineage, I’m first generation American. From childhood, I was surrounded by excellent art & storytelling, from wonderfully illustrated books, fantastic films, and the latest & greatest video games, to being classically educated in 3 musical instruments & music theory for over a decade. Nature, Animals [extinct or alive], Dinosaurs (I’m an immense Jurassic Park fan; the original film and both novels profoundly affected my 10 yr old mind), Science, & Advances in Technology and Medicine have and will always fascinate me.
Goals & Influences: I’m currently developing film pitch material for an older, beautiful video game IP, which I would love to be my film writer/directorial debut. I’m consistently working on new, personal passion projects involving 3D Printing and Artwork, and also working on a set of novels, -Modern Supernatural-thrillers set in the near future, written with years of grounded science and real-world research & interviews, inspired by one of my biggest heroes -Michael Crichton. Some of my other biggest creative influences are: Dean Koontz, Robert Ludlum, Alexandre Dumas, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Maurice Sendak, Sir Ken Robinson, Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, Stan Winston, Phil Tippet, Dennis Muren, Ed Annunziata, John Rosengrant, Shane Mahan, Chris Swift, Mark ‘Crash’ McCreery, Neri Oxman, Anouk Wippretcht, Ted Backman, Greg Broadmore, Chris Sanders, John Gurche, and classics like Antonio Canova, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, among many, more other creatives influences in the illustration, musical categories.
I enjoy meeting new people, making new friends (especially in the film, science, medical, and tech fields), traveling, and always desire to make a positive impact with my artwork. Achieving one’s dreams is great, though for me, they’re nothing without deeper purpose. Life is short, pay it forward. Do more good. Challenge yourself. Continually learn, grow, improve yourself, expand your understanding of the world around us, and never be afraid to fail or be proven wrong; Self-renovation is how we move forward! As artists, I firmly believe we need to bring more depth, intelligence, empathy, and optimism into the world through our creative abilities, because there will always be a deficit of it in this life.
